The Conservative Muslim Forum Youth wing will be hosting Shami Chakrabarti, the director of the human rights organisation Liberty, in an exclusive event at the House of Lords.
Since becoming Liberty’s Director she has worked to promote and defend human rights values in Parliament, the courts and the wider society. Shami Chakrabarti has written, spoken and broadcast widely on the importance of the post-WW2 human rights framework as an essential component of democratic society. She was shortlisted in the Channel 4 Political Awards 2006 for the ‘Most Inspiring Political Figure’ award.
